Owning a rabbit requires you to take daily care of him/her. While sharing similarities with caring for your dog or cat, the one big difference is that your rabbit is a caged pet and so therefore they are completely reliant on you. Proper housing is necessary for your pet rabbit to insure your rabbit remains safe and healthy. What type of housing will depend on whether your rabbit is going to live in the house or outdoors. Your rabbit's house needs to be five to six times bigger than your rabbit to allow room for their business, to eat, and to stretch. If you are housing your rabbit outside make sure that the hutch has a floor. Rabbits love to dig and you could find your rabbit has burrowed out of the cage.
Your Beveren rabbit will need regular grooming at least once a week, sometimes more often. You should also bathe your rabbit occasionally. It's a great idea to start when your rabbit is young. They'll become used to the process. Howe often you have to bathe your rabbit will depend. It can range from weekly to monthly. Use baby shampoo and towel dry your rabbit after. You can use a blow dryer to speed things up but your rabbit may become frightened by the noise.
Your rabbit needs exercise and they also love to play so invest in commercial toys for rabbits to keep your bunny entertained. These include blocks, treat balls, chew toys, and plenty more. When you exercise your rabbit outside you'll need to keep a close eye on him/her since they can disappear quickly. If you are exercising your pet rabbit inside you'll need to watch that he/she is not chewing on stuff.
